Welcome to the Official site of The Attachment and Health Disparities Lab at NYU’s School of Global Public Health.

Our work focuses on understanding the psychosocial pathways that underlie attachment, minority stress, and health outcomes among young sexual and/or racial/ethnic minority populations. We seek to understand how structural- and individual- minority stressors (i.e., violence, discrimination, and hate) contribute to the mental health, physical health, and health behaviors across the lifespan and the virtual and physical worlds. Further, we seek to understand how features of close relationships can exacerbate or buffer the negative effects of minority stress on health of marginalized populations.

Welcome to the lab, Sabrina! Prior to joining us, she conducted international women's health research at the Weill Cornell Center for Global Health and behavioral health research at the UC Davis Center for Healthcare Policy and Research. We are so excited to have her!

Congratulations to Mariana on embarking on her Ph.D. journey in Social & Behavioral Sciences at NYU, under the mentorship of Dr. Cook. Since joining our team in 2023, Mariana has been a core member, and we are thrilled to see her begin this new chapter.
